After receiving a pharmacy degree at the Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy, I moved to the School of Pharmacy, Curtin University of Technology, Australia as a research associate for the synthesis of the biologically active azolotriazines. Shortly after I joined the “Graduate school of chemistry” at the University of Münster, Germany to perform my PhD with a focus on the Penicillium spp. as a source of secondary metabolites. After I continue to work with filamentous fungus with a particular interest in Claviceps purpurea pigment cluster. Currently, I am a Junior Group Leader at the Institute of Food Chemistry, Münster. Our research group is mainly working on Stachybotrys strains. By utilizing various approaches such as molecular biology, co-cultivation, along with semi-synthesis we are aiming to access to novel secondary metabolites from Stachybotrys.
My main interests on the fungal secondary metabolites, synthesis and semi-synthesis of biologically active fungal derived metabolites and structure elucidation of novel mycotoxins.
